Roblox has hundreds of error codes. Some are just connection glitches, while others mean you've been banned. And then there are the fake ones made up to scare you on TikTok. Let's break them down, starting from the fake ones and moving to the most dangerous errors possible.
1. Error Code 1001
⬜ FAKE / HOAXYou might have seen this on TikTok: a scary red screen telling you to "Call 911" or warning of a "possible raid." It usually has a creepy face or distorted text.
This is 100% fake. Error 1001 does not exist in Roblox. It was created by content creators to get views and scare kids. If you see a video about this, ignore it.
2. The "DZD" Error
⬜ HARMLESSThis looks like your computer is haunted. The text is garbled, random characters are everywhere, and it looks like a virus.
This is just a language detection bug. When Roblox doesn't know what language you're using (or gets a 403 error during login), it sometimes freaks out and displays garbage text. It looks scary, but it's just a visual bug. Restarting the game fixes it.
3. Error Code 284
🟡 LOW DANGERMessage: "A fatal error occurred while running this game."
"Fatal" sounds bad, right? Like your PC is about to die?
This usually means UI Overload. If a game has too many buttons, images, and menus on screen at once, the engine can't handle it and crashes. It's the game's fault, not yours. You aren't banned, and your PC is fine.
4. Low Memory Warning
🟠 MEDIUM DANGERMessage: "Your device's memory is low. Leaving now will preserve your state."
This appears mostly on mobile devices. It means your phone is running out of RAM (memory) to run the game. If you keep playing, your device could overheat or crash hard. It's Roblox trying to save your phone from freezing up. Close other apps and try again.
5. Error Code 291
🟡 LOW DANGERMessage: "Player has been removed from the data model."
This one sounds existential. "Removed from the data model" sounds like you've been deleted from the Matrix.
It just means your character (avatar) failed to load properly into the server. If your character isn't there, the server kicks you because it doesn't know what to do with a ghost. Rejoining usually fixes it immediately.
6. Error Code 273
🟠 MEDIUM DANGERMessage: "Disconnected from game, possibly due to game joined from another device."
This implies someone hacked you and is playing on your account. But there's another reason for this one.
While this CAN mean someone else logged in, it often happens if you are already banned or warned and try to join a game using a client/exploit. If you've been doing shady stuff, this is your sign to stop.
7. The "Fake Game" Crash
⬜ FAKE / HOAXSome Roblox horror games have built-in "crash" screens that look super realistic. They make you think your PC broke or you got banned.
If you're playing a horror game and the screen suddenly glitches out with a scary error, it's likely part of the game. Don't fall for it!
8. Account Creation Suspended
🔴 HIGH DANGERYou try to make a new account, and Roblox says "NO."
This is a Poison Ban. It means your IP address has been blacklisted because someone on your network (maybe you, maybe a sibling) did something essentially terrible. You cannot create new accounts from your house anymore. This is serious.
9. Roblox Studio: "Could not open place"
🔴 HIGH DANGERFor developers, this is the heartbreak error. "Roblox Studio could not open the place with exception."
Your game file is corrupt. Unless you have a backup or auto-save, your work is gone. This is why you always save local backups!
10. Error Code 528
🟡 RAREMessage: "Your party is too large to join this experience."
This is a relic from the past. Roblox used to have a "Party" feature where you could drag friends into games with you.
Parties were removed, so you shouldn't see this. If you do, it's just a weird connection timeout glitch. Nothing to worry about.
11. Error Code 268
🔴 HIGH DANGERMessage: "You have been kicked due to unexpected client behavior."
This is the "Hacker Detected" screen.
Roblox detected that you modified the game client (exploits, cheat engine, injectors). If you aren't hacking, your internet is really unstable or a virus interfered with Roblox. If you ARE hacking... well, you got caught.
12. User Code 0x1
🔴 CRITICALThis one is confusing: "Roblox cannot start up. User code = 0x1."
This is often a HWID (Hardware ID) or MAC address ban. It's usually given to people who create inappropriate adult content or repeatedly violate the worst ToS rules. It blocks your specific computer hardware from playing Roblox.
13. Error Code 529
🔴 HIGH DANGERMessage: "We are experiencing technical difficulties."
This affects everyone. It means Roblox itself is broken.
The servers are down, or under attack, or someone at Roblox headquarters tripped over a cable. Your account is safe, but you can't play until they fix it.
14. Error Code 403
🔴 CRITICALMessage: "Access to roblox.com was denied." or "403 Forbidden."
This is it. The end of the line. If you see this on the website, your IP is fully banned from accessing Roblox. They have fired all weapons at you. You cannot play, you cannot view the site, you cannot create accounts.
15. Error Code 264
🔴 THE SCARIEST ONEMessage: "Same account launched game from different device."
This means someone else is currently playing on your account. If it wasn't you (like you left your iPad on), then YOU. ARE. HACKED.
Immediate Action Required:
- Log out of all other sessions immediately (Settings > Security).
